Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
