Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the controversy from his public comments.

The Fallout

Salah was left out from a vital match following making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Team Form

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
