Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in violence and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven tales. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two creators whose projects have embodied all of those elements.
Show Details
Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' structure by introducing a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.
“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their constant trust and backing.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology program. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always examining the nature of people through this complex and unpredictable viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our mutual unconventional, visionary style to the screen.”
A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
