Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
